About This Role:
 Tria Federal (Tria) is seeking a talented Integration Engineer. The Integration Engineer, Expert, will develop and implement a plan to integrate at least six systems within a Product Line at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The plan must include incremental steps for modernizing the integrated technology platform and increasing automated capabilities for end-users. The Integration Engineer, Expert, must consider testing requirements, security needs, Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements, cost, and SAFe/DevSecOps principals in all integration plans and activities.  
Responsibilities:
  • Helps to support the creation of strategies and plans for integration of multiple IT systems/sub-systems into an operational unit, ensuring full functional and performance capabilities are retained. 
  • Assists in coordinating with technical management to assess risks, goals, and requirements ensuring that all are adequately addressed and within VA compliance.   
  • Assists in the coordination of technical integration efforts with third-party developers with authority over the solution and database architecture being leveraged to implement products within the product line. 
  • Helps to track and identify upstream and downstream dependencies and develop an approach to address these dependencies in ongoing development efforts. 
  • Supports the establishment of system information requirements using analysis of the information engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems. 
  • Supports the management of data interdependencies between multiple systems and products.  
  • Document potential modernization and improvement opportunities in the portfolio backlog. 
  • Participate in the portfolio-level Architecture Review Board and facilitate adherence to VA enterprise architecture policies and best practices.  
  • Assist VA project managers with the development of high-quality responses to internal and external information requests by translating technical information from disparate sources into executive-level communications. 
  • Help to translate technical information from disparate sources into executive-level communications. 
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures for program activities and identify process improvements.
  • Work independently to carry out assignments to completion within the parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Design and conduct project plans for special projects that will require interaction with development and system team admins, while understanding the technical aspects necessary to product quality end products/project completion.
 
The “Need-to-Have” Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in introducing new hardware or software into a new or existing environment while minimizing disruption and mitigating risks.  
  • Experience with system decommissioning and data migration. 
  • Experience in a wide range of work in creating diagrams and documentation with all components that comprise IT systems including network topology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with brevity and clarity.
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture Repositories
  • Experience working as a federal contractor or employee.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment, with an expert understanding of client management and building trusted customer relationships.
  • Experience with SAFe and Agile methodology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with brevity and clarity.
  • Understanding of the Authority to Operate (ATO) process.
  • Hands on experience with Jira and GitHub or other applicable agile tools.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment and understanding of client/customer relations.
  •  AWS cloud-based enterprise engineering experience
 
Professional Certifications:SAFe Certification or PMP 
AWS Cloud Service Certifications 
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific/technical discipline.
Clearance:Ability to obtain & maintain a Public Trust Clearance

  • Experience working as a contractor or an employee for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
  • Hands-on technical Jira/GitHub Administration.
  • Ability to work under pressure, coordinate multiple assignments at once, and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing/facilitating reviews of Kanban boards.
  • Experience working in Jira and DevSecOps tools.
  • Experience with security controls and ATO support.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Able to read code, with development experience, and perform research when necessary. Will also provide oversight into current methodologies used by the development team in the delivery of custom-coded software using tools, including but not limited to, GitHub, Jenkins, and Jira.
